We will be back in 2026

Today heralds the end of Lap the Map Fundraiser for Lions Assistance Medical Alert  Dogs for people with Type 1 diabetes.
Myself and LAD ‘Ollie’ are very excited to have taken the opportunity to participate in this very worthy fundraiser.
We say a huge thank you to all who have supported us, you are truly awesome, with a call-out to anyone who would like to put forward a donation it is never too late to do so.
All going well LAD ‘Ollie’ and I will see you next year.
PS consider registering it is fun 🤩

Lapping the Map

A beautiful morning to be out Lapping the Map with LAD Ollie. My steps maybe slower as I recover from a sore foot, however what better way to go with my wonderful walking companion Ollie. Wishing you all a fabulous Friday and weekend

‘We Are Back’

Oh how I’ve missed getting out and walking so🐾💖 Yeah after 21/2 weeks resting, as requested by podiatrist, Ollie and I are back walking.  We will be going slowly, however we hope to Imrove over the coming weeks.
During this time LAD Ollie has passed his accreditation with distinction.
If you see us out and about please say hello.

Lap the Map ‘Carolyn & Ollie’

Well here goes my 1st Blog.
I love walking and have taken the opportunity to do ‘Lap the Map’.
Really excited to have a reason to be out walking. Even more excited to have ‘Ollie’ my Lions Assistance Dog (LAD).
Thank you to all who have kindly supported me, I am very blessed.
We started well walking a few Klms then increasing in both Klms & speed.
I do need to mention that during 2024-2025 as 201C2 District Governor I did very little walking.
The unfortunate result being I have strained my ankle ligament (I think that’s what I’ve done), along with the need for shoes orthotics 🥺
The podiatrist tells me to rest, no walking for 21/2 weeks 😧 then exercise and start walking short distances to begin with.
There I end my 1st Blog, we will be back

I'm doing Lap the Map to Transform Lives with Diabetic Alert Dogs

Living with diabetes can be tough, with constant worries about blood sugar levels. Diabetic Alert Dogs are specially trained to detect changes in their owner’s blood sugar, alerting them before it becomes dangerous. These amazing dogs not only help keep people safe but also offer comfort and companionship. My goal is to provide these life-changing Diabetic Alert Dogs free of charge to Australians living with diabetes. I believe everyone should have access to this support, regardless of their situation. Your donations make this possible by helping us train more dogs and support families.

Please donate today. Every little bit helps us provide hope and support to those living with diabetes. Together, we can make a real difference.
