I'm doing Lap the Map to Transform Lives with Diabetic Alert Dogs

I was privileged to receive my own Diabetic Alert Dog, Faye, from Lions in 2023. I've had type 1 diabetes since I was 8 years old, and the toughest times have been as a busy mother of 4 kids; we are always busy and I was always fearful of low blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia) creeping up when I was on the run with the kids.

Faye can detect a hypo before I feel it, and significantly before my continuous glucose monitor alerts me. It is reassuring to know she is always alert, and her ability to seek help and press a duress alarm gives me great peace of mind.

She is now an invaluable part of our family, and her devotion to me is incredible. She loves being in the garden to keep an eye on me (and fetch her teddy endlessly)

My goal is to provide these life-changing Diabetic Alert Dogs free of charge to Australians living with diabetes. I believe everyone should have access to this support, regardless of their situation. Your donations make this possible by helping us train more dogs and support families.

Please donate today. Every little bit helps us provide hope and support to those living with diabetes. Together, we can make a real difference.
