We're doing Lap the Map to Transform Lives with Diabetic Alert Dogs
This Friday is World Diabetes Day - and Monty and Sari-Elle will be running 13kms in recognition of the 13 Lions Assistance Dogs currently supporting people living with Type 1 Diabetes across Australia.
We’ll be finishing our run at 6.05pm at the opening of the Lions Sydney N5 Convention at Wenty Leagues Club, where one of these amazing Medical Alert Dogs - Mimi - will be in the audience alongside her recipient Taylor Mason to share their inspiring story.
Many of you know Monty is Sari-Elle's regular training buddy but this will be his longest run yet, dedicated to his heroes, the Lions Diabetic Alert Dogs.
Diabetic Alert Dogs truly save lives - detecting dangerous blood sugar changes and alerting their owners before it’s too late. They can even fetch hypo kits, get help, or press emergency call buttons if their person loses consciousness.
Please join us in supporting these incredible life-saving companions through Lap the Map for Diabetes, where Lions Clubs and communities across Australia are clocking up kilometres, raising awareness and funds for Lions Assistance Dogs’ Diabetic Alert Dog program.
Every little bit helps us provide hope and support to those living with diabetes. Together, we can make a real difference.
