I'm doing Lap the Map to Transform Lives with Diabetic Alert Dogs
Im Turning 50 and im challenging myself to do something crazy. Diabetes affects so many people, and Lions International is committed to helping raise awareness of Diabetes, to help find a cure and to help people living with Diabetes. One of the ways to combat type 2 Diabetes is to walk, so im going on a walk. From 14th July, I will attempt to walk 350km solo along the Heysen Trail in SA. Lions Diabetes Alert Dogs help people manage their diabetes by providing a trained Diabetes alert service dog ABSOLUTELY FREE, so let's help them get more dogs out into our community.
Along my way i want to encourage you all to talk about Diabetes, be aware of the signs and symptoms and talk about it with your Doctor if you could be at risk. Management is key to a longer, better life.
Living with diabetes can be tough, with constant worries about blood sugar levels.
Diabetic Alert Dogs are specially trained to detect changes in their owner’s blood sugar, alerting them before it becomes dangerous. These amazing dogs not only help keep people safe but also offer comfort and companionship. My goal is to provide these life-changing Diabetic Alert Dogs free of charge to Australians living with diabetes. I believe everyone should have access to this support, regardless of their situation. Your donations make this possible by helping us train more dogs and support families.
Please donate today. Every little bit helps us provide hope and support to those living with diabetes. Together, we can make a real difference.
Go girl!
